About Us

A banquet hall filled with people at tables during an event. — Northampton Elks Lodge #997
A banquet hall filled with people at tables during an event.

At 17 Spring St in downtown Northampton, the Elks Lodge #997 has been a cornerstone of civic life in the Pioneer Valley for generations. Members gather here not for a logo on a wall, but for real connection, charitable work, and a shared commitment to the community that surrounds them. The lodge has logged more than 4.5 stars across dozens of reviews, and that rating reflects something harder to fake than a fresh coat of paint: people who actually enjoy being here.

The hall itself is spacious, clean, and adaptable. Guests have celebrated 50th birthday milestones here, watched live pro wrestling events from the second row, and hosted fundraisers that put money back into Northampton's neighborhoods. It is the kind of room that disappears into whatever event you bring to it, which is exactly what a great venue should do.

Beyond the rentable hall, Lodge #997 is an active chapter of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks, one of America's oldest and most respected fraternal organizations. Members volunteer, donate, and show up. If you are looking for a place to belong in Northampton, this is a serious answer to that question.

What We Offer

The lodge offers hall rentals for private events of all kinds, from birthday parties and anniversary dinners to community fundraisers and live entertainment nights. The space seats a comfortable crowd, comes clean and ready, and the staff on-site keep things running smoothly from setup through cleanup.

Beyond event hosting, Elks Lodge #997 provides an active membership program open to American citizens who believe in the organization's core values of charity, justice, brotherly love, and fidelity. Members gain access to lodge facilities, social gatherings, and a network of fellow Elks chapters across the country.

The lodge also supports community grant programs funded through the national Elks organization, directing money toward youth scholarships, veterans' services, and local charitable causes right here in Northampton and the surrounding Hampshire County region.

"DO NOT RENT A HALL HERE! This woman by the name of Wendy is a scammer and crooked as HELL! She will steal your $200 cash deposit for the hall and then lie about supposed damage that never happened and do not exist. She was supposed to inspect the hall after our event and she left early and did not do the inspection. I took pictures and showed proof there was no damages and she still will not return my $200 deposit! There is no other Information to reach anyone else about it!"

"I came here to see a professional wrestling matches called pro wrestling grind. I got in the second row where I can see the ring and wrestlers coming down to the ring. This show was in the hall type setting. The matches were great and it was crowded as well. The parking lot is big with handicap parking and handicap accessible entrance. The hall that the wrestling was in is big as well. With a chandelier in the middle of the hall. This wrestling company is on facebook and they have different events coming up in the future. The wrestling company is called pro wrestling grind."

"This is the place to go for your vaccine or booster. Impressively efficient with coordinated sections for each stage. Great staff. Everyone was professional, no-nonsense, yet friendly and kind. They are adhering to occupancy limits indoors, so anticipate waiting in an outdoor line for 10 or more min to get into your appointment slot (wear your winter gear)."

The Elks gave America
Flag Day.

Long before it was a national observance, the Order set aside June 14th to honor the flag. Patriotism has always been one of our cardinal principles, and every lodge meeting still closes the same way it has for over a century.
